romarise hero2

The main goal of this section is to use theater as a way for 45 Roma teenagers to self- represent themselves and develop their creative expression. We believe that art is a
powerful tool for fostering diversity and creativity, and that is why it is a part of our project.

Two main activities compose this work package, and they will take place in Cluj- Napoca, in Romania.

The first workshop is the Intercultural Performative Lab, which consists in weekly sessions that will run for seven weeks and will focus on the themes of segregation and self-representation. It will count on a facilitator who will lead the process and encourage the participants to have an active presence.

The second workshop is a three-day cultural exchange called Transnational Cultural Lab, in which Roma ambassadors will explore the themes of Roma identity, culture, empowerment and self-esteem. A cultural festive event will close this section, bringing the community together and celebrating self-expression.

We expect this section to show that artistic expression can be an instrument for interethnic dialogue and to foster diversity.
